Supporting my Community

Handicap parking symbol painted on a textured, reddish-brown wall
Two hands, one dark-skinned and one light-skinned, making peace signs against a blurred green foliage background.
A sign reading 'I AM A WOMAN ON A MISSION TO...' surrounded by numerous yellow sticky notes with handwritten messages of empowerment, love, and encouragement for women.
A black letter board, a partially eaten pie with sprinkles, a slice of pie on a marble plate, and a cup of coffee on a bright pink background. The letter board displays a message about equal rights.

Aspasia was created as I was struggling to find balance in my life. I have worked and studied for all of my adult life but this has gotten harder and harder to accomplish.

Reason being I have Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) which affects my ability to work a 9-5 typical routine. My CFS can make me exhausted for days, sometimes weeks at a time and the fibromyalgia causes wideset pain and fibro fog, which makes it difficult to form coherent thoughts or make sense in conversations when I am in a flare up.

I created Aspasia to allow me to work around my disability and to find a work life balance so that I can continue to earn an income, use the education and skills I have earned, and be fulfilled while also taking care of myself.

Knowing how difficult life and work life can be when you are disabled gives me a new perspective and I would like to make a difference in other people’s lives where I can. With that I want to help others with completing forms, applying for funding, benefits and generally finding out what rules and regulations they are able to benefit from or must adhere to.

I want to help those who through no fault of their own, cannot help themselves. Through lack of ability, skills, funding, tools or simply because they do not know where to start..

Equality encompasses all walks of life, everyone should feel that they have the same shot as everyone else in having a healthy. happy and safe life. You should be able to have these things regardless of your social status, race, religion, disability, age or marital status. I want to be an advocate for those who need one, in a voluntary capacity.

Therefore if you need help with financial planning, budgeting. Applications for benefits, assistance or specialist help. Please get in touch and I will endeavour to help you where I can voluntarily.
